Roast Beef with Garlic and Shallots

A juicy, flavour-packed sirloin roast infused with garlic, shallots, and Roast Beef Rub the perfect centrepiece for your next family feast. 🥩 🧄

Ingredients

For the roast:

  • 1.5 kg sirloin roast
  • 3–4 tbsp Roast Beef Rub - A Spice Affair
  • 1 tsp coarse ground salt
  • 3 tbsp avocado oil
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3 shallots, sliced

Preparation

1. Season the roast

In a shallow dish, mix the Roast Beef Rub - A Spice Affair with the coarse salt. Pat the roast dry with paper towel, then press all sides into the seasoning mix until completely coated.

2. Sear the meat

Place a Dutch oven over high heat. Add the avocado and olive oil and allow to get hot. Sear the roast on all sides until evenly browned.

3. Baste with butter and garlic

Add butter and garlic to the pot and baste the roast for a few minutes as the butter melts. Remove from heat.

4. Add broth and roast

Add sliced shallots and beef broth to the pot. Cover with a lid and roast in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 60 minutes.

5. Rest and serve

Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before carving. Serve with the cooked shallots and pan juices.
