Crispy, golden, and bursting with flavour, these mac & cheese balls with ham are the ultimate comfort food bite. Coated in breadcrumbs and seasoned with A Spice Affair’s Everything Bacon Seasoning, each ball has a crunchy outside, a gooey cheesy inside, and savoury ham cubes for the perfect party snack.
Ingredients

2 cups cooked macaroni

1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup cubed ham

2 tbsp butter
-
2 tbsp flour
-
1 ½ cups milk
-
½ cup grated Parmesan

Salt & pepper to taste

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup flour (for coating)

1 ½ cups breadcrumbs (panko preferred)

Oil for frying
Preparation

Make the cheese sauce
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to make a roux.
Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add cheddar, Parmesan, and Everything Bacon Seasoning. Stir until creamy.

Combine with pasta
Mix the cooked macaroni and ham cubes into the cheese sauce. Spread into a dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm.

Form the balls
Scoop chilled mac & cheese mixture and roll into bite-sized balls.

Coat
Roll each ball in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.

Fry until golden
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the balls in batches until deep golden and crispy, about 3–4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Stack high on a platter for sharing, or serve with your favourite dipping sauce.
