This easy Shepherd’s Pie recipe is the perfect comfort food for a cozy evening. Made with lean ground beef, colourful vegetables, and creamy garlic mashed potatoes, it’s hearty, flavourful, and simple enough for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Beef Filling

2 lbs lean ground beef
-
1 large white onion, diced
-
2 cloves garlic, crushed
-
¾ cup peas
-
¾ cup corn
-
¾ cup diced carrots
-
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp rosemary
-
1 tsp thyme
-
1 cup tomato sauce
-
2 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt & pepper, to taste
Garlic Mashed Potatoes

6 white potatoes, peeled, diced & boiled until tender

¼ cup 10% cream
-
2 tbsp unsalted butter
-
½ tsp pepper
Garnish
-
Parmesan cheese
-
Dried parsley
Preparation

In a skillet, sauté onions in olive oil until translucent.

Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, thyme, salt & pepper.

Mix in peas, corn, carrots, and tomato sauce. Cook for 5 minutes until heated through.

For the mashed potatoes: mash boiled potatoes with cream, butter, garlic seasoning & pepper until smooth.

Spread beef mixture into a baking dish, top with mashed potatoes, smooth the surface, and create peaks with a fork.

Sprinkle with Parmesan and parsley.

Bake uncovered at 400°F for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
